Hello Wolverine Theatre!
We have an opportunity to make a difference in the Houston area! One of our former technical theatre students, Matt Barron, is taking his truck down this weekend and wants to be able to help those that need it in any way he can. He is hoping to fill his truck with those necessities that are of an immediate need. If you can help please send a donation item or two with your student either tomorrow or on Friday morning. Matt will pick it all up from us and distribute it to those he is able to assist over the weekend.
Immediate needs are:
Many people can’t get out to obtain these items themselves, stores are sold out or the lines to check out are hours long. Anything we can do to help out will be greatly appreciated!
“I am only one, but still I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something I can do.”
-Edward E. Hale
Hello Wolverines! We hope have had a wonderful summer and are ready to jump back into theatre next week! We can’t wait to see you!
Auditions for our winter musical, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, will take place in mid-September. Our mandatory pre-audition meeting for both parents and students is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6th from 6:00-7:00PM.
During the pre-audition meeting we will be handing out audition packets for actors and technicians, discussing the rehearsal and performance calendar for the show, discussing the production process and expectations and much more. Our amazing boosters will also take the stage to share some exciting information with you all.
While we know this is a very busy time of year for everyone, it is imperative that at least one parent be in attendance for the meeting. In fact, it is more important that a parent be in attendance than a student! If a parent cannot attend the meeting you must email Mrs. Dalfonzo at DalfonzJ@FriscoISD.org prior to the meeting date.

On January 20, we will be presenting an autism friendly matinee. We will be presenting the full show, but the sound and lights will be geared toward creating a sensory friendly environment.
Tickets are on sale at http://tickets.friscoisd.org.
If you have any questions you can e-mail Jonette Dalfonzo at dalfonzj@friscoisd.org or you can call 469-633-5736.
Jonette Dalfonzo will be joining Wakeland Theatre after building an awesome theatre program at Roach Middle School for the last 12 years. Before that she taught for 6 years in Plano and 6 years in Sherman. She has a degree in theatre from the University of North Texas and spent two years studying the Meisner technique in New York.
She is very excited to get started with Wakeland Theatre! It’s going to be a great year!

I have news that has to be shared. I am not even sure how to start, so I will just say it… After 13 incredible years in Frisco ISD – 11 of which have been at Wakeland, I will be embarking on a new adventure. My husband has been offered a new position within his company and after much thought and consideration, we have decided it is an opportunity we cannot pass up. However, the new position requires us to relocate and, therefore, my family will all be moving to England! My time at Wakeland has been very special to me and, were it not for this relocation, I would not be going anywhere. While an exciting opportunity for my family, it is difficult to say goodbye to all of you. I cannot begin to say how much I will miss each and everyone one of you. It has been a pleasure being your director and I look forward to seeing all the things that each of you will accomplish. There are so many things that I want to say to you. I hope that we can all get together before I leave so that I can see you one last time. Thank you for being amazing. Love you guys!! – Mrs. Howe

The Nominating Committee is excited about this slate and feel they will do a great job for the group. Voting of the officer positions will take place during a short business meeting at banquet on May 30th.
